Helpful Answers to Common Questions

Everything you need to know about our practice, fees, format, and getting started.

Orchid offers accessible, professional support for individuals, couples, and families. I provide a safe, gentle, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and relationships alongside a family and couples practitioner. I hold meetings online or, when suitable, in person, making it simple and convenient for you to access support wherever you are.

When you work with me, I help you better understand and support one another. I guide you in identifying stuck communication cycles, discovering the unique strengths of your family and relationship, and creating lasting, positive changes in your daily life.

• Couples and families wishing to build closer, healthier, and more peaceful connections.

• Those navigating major life transitions or crises, such as bereavement, illness, relocation, separation, or cultural adjustment and migration.

• Parents or individuals seeking guidance regarding the emotional well-being of a loved one or child.

• Anyone looking to break free from repeating, exhausting communication loops.

Our first meeting is a gentle opportunity to get to know each other and explore how we might work together. We will discuss what brings you here, the areas you wish to focus on, and your hopes for the process. There is no pressure—we move entirely at your pace.

The length of our work depends on your unique needs. Many families and couples experience meaningful shifts within a short block of 8 to 10 sessions over a few months. For complex or long-standing patterns, the process may naturally take longer. There is no mandatory package; we typically meet every two weeks and regularly review progress together.

No, everyone’s presence is not required for every meeting. Our work is not limited to having the entire family in the room at all times. Depending on what is most helpful for your situation, we may meet as a whole family, with parents only, or individually.

Yes, absolutely. It is very common for one person to feel ready for support while another feels hesitant. A core strength of the systemic approach is that a change in one part of the system impacts the whole system. When we begin with those who are ready, even a subtle shift in one person’s communication or perspective can create a positive ripple effect throughout the entire home.
